If stamped concrete is properly installed and maintained, it can last more than 25 years.
Adding stamped concrete to your landscaping can increase your home value by up to 15 percent. More importantly, it increases your curb appeal which makes your home easier to sell in the future.
The main reasons people choose stamped concrete are:
- Low cost: Concrete is far less expensive than natural stone.
- Low maintenance: Concrete requires no weeding and it is easy to take care of. Simply power wash in the summer, shovel in the winter, and occasionally reseal.
- Longevity: Concrete is completely flat. Unlike bricks or pavers that shift and move over time, concrete remains intact and can last for many years.
We recommend that at least a 24 hour waiting period before walking on a new concrete surface. Additionally, do not place furniture or decorative pieces on the concrete for at least 1 week.
We recommend re-sealing your concrete every 2-3 years to keep its original color and texture. However, it depends on the amount of sun and traffic your concrete receives. The more you walk on it and the more UV exposure it receives, the more frequently you will need to reseal it. Please consult Morrison Custom Concrete for an expert opinion on your specific concrete sealing needs.
We can certainly discuss resurfacing or adding a stamped overlay to your existing concrete. However, we do not recommend resurfacing or overlaying concrete on damaged or structurally compromised concrete.
Morrison Custom Concrete carries stamps made by Brickform. Each pattern has features like texture and depth of texture and pattern. This makes the design possibilities endless. We will help you navigate which pattern works best for the area you are designing to complete your landscaping vision.
We suggest using a leaf blower, broom, or plastic shovel to clear your concrete during the winter. Never use salt on your concrete to provide traction. Kitty litter is a better alternative that won’t degrade or damage your concrete while still providing the traction that you need to feel safe.
Absolutely. Morrison Custom Concrete carries both liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance for your protection as well as ours. We are licensed in the State of Pennsylvania and will provide copies of our license and insurances to our customers.
