Mark and his team did an amazing job, delivering exactly what we asked for: demo and replace our cracked and sinking front patio and add a stamped concrete path from the driveway to our door. They were professional, responsive and skilled through the process and we are very happy with the end result. We would definitely recommend Morrison Custom Concrete.
Our Process for Creating Stamped Concrete Patios in Chester County, PA
It all begins with a brainstorming session with our concrete experts to review your ideas and the endless possibilities for your stamped concrete patio. This will facilitate the process and we can present you with possible combinations of colors and patterns that will blend in with your home, business, and other landscaping. At this point, we will discuss any questions or concerns you have, such as cost, timeline, etc. Please keep in mind that we cannot pour concrete when the weather is poor, so it is important to add some flexibility to the timeline.
Our process of constructing a stamped concrete patio will start by excavating the proposed areas and tamping the soil for proper compaction as needed. Next, we will form up the area, place, and grade a 4 inch clean stone base for the concrete. Morrison Custom Concrete, Inc. uses a 4,000 psi fiber reinforced concrete. For additional strength, we also use 6″ x 6″ wire mesh reinforcement and a 3′ on center rebar mat throughout the areas being poured. Proper construction and control joints are used to help reduce any shrinkage cracks that may occur in your stamped concrete patio.

Stamping & Color Process
Morrison Custom Concrete, Inc. uses Solomon’s concrete colors. The color of choice is mixed throughout the concrete. The concrete is poured and finished to a smooth surface. When the concrete is firm enough for the stamping process we broadcast a BrickForm release agent. This process keeps the stamps from sticking to the concrete and adds a secondary color for a realistic, natural look. The concrete is then stamped with the pattern of choice. Once the concrete is cured enough the area will be power washed and sealed for color enhancement and protection from the elements. The sealer being applied will have a slip-resistant additive for traction.
